Having Nightmares..!!! Be Aware…Might be Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

This article has been written to make people aware about a serious traumatic state, i.e. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Let’s discuss this situation with help of a real story. If you have remembered the news of an earth quake that came in Japan some months ago, a 22 year old girl had been majorly affected by it. Although, she got only minor injuries, but two friends who were at her home were killed. Few days after the earth quake went normal and seemed like just a bad dream that young girl had. However, from one Saturday night, she started having nightmares about it. And till now, the scenes and noises of the earth quake disturb her most of the time.


She faces difficulty sleeping at night, and all through the day she suffers from ill-temperedness. She screams whenever she hears or sees news of such natural disasters, and stays away from TV programs and movies that may depict a earth quake scene. Also, she say no to go near the earth quakes’ sites.


What would you say about this young girl. Is she reacting in a very emotional or impractical way? Or has she gone mad? Not of course, in fact she has been facing a serious trauma after that incident. Subsequent to such a disturbing experience, it’s normal to feel panicky, depressing, nervous, and detached. Although at times the stress one experiences is so devastating that one may feel caught with hurting memoirs that do not become pale with time also. Such setbacks are scientifically defined as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders. This is not actually a disease but can be cured if taken good PTSD Treatment.
